Bhupinder Vinyl Records

Bhupinder Singh (1940–2022) was born in Amritsar and came to Hindi films through Madan Mohan, who gave him a part in “Hoke Majboor Mujhe Usne Bulaya Hoga” in Haqeeqat (1964). He is remembered for “Dil Dhoondta Hai” in Mausam, “Naam Gum Jayega” for R.D. Burman in Kinara and Khayyam’s “Kabhi Kisi Ko Mukammal Jahan Nahin Milta” in Ahista Ahista. He also built a long career in ghazals, and gave up playback singing in the mid-1980s.

The records in this collection

19 records carry a Bhupinder credit. Almost all are Hindi film soundtracks on which he is one of several playback singers. The bulk date from the early 1980s and are EMI and HMV pressings, with some on Music India. Khayyam’s Ahista Ahista (1981) and Dard sit beside Naushad’s Dharam Kanta, R.D. Burman’s Heeralaal Pannalaal (1978) and Raam Laxman’s Jiyo To Aise Jiyo (1981).

Buying Bhupinder vinyl from us

Every listing shows the copy you will receive, with the sleeve and the vinyl graded separately. Several EMI soundtracks here came in gatefold jackets, so we note split seams, ring wear and old writing. Parcels are packed in Bengaluru for buyers in India and abroad.
