Kannada Vinyl Records
Original Kannada film LPs and EPs from the golden decades of Sandalwood — the Dr. Rajkumar era, the late-80s Hamsalekha wave, and the devotional records that Karnataka's labels pressed alongside them.
What you'll find here
Soundtracks from Rajkumar classics, scores by G.K. Venkatesh (in whose orchestra a young Ilaiyaraaja once played), Vijaya Bhaskar and Rajan-Nagendra, and the Hamsalekha-scored hits of the late 1980s. P.B. Sreenivas and S. Janaki's Kannada playback work runs through much of this shelf, along with Siddhalingeswara and other devotional pressings.
Collecting Kannada vinyl
Kannada film records had some of the smallest pressing runs among the southern industries, which makes this catalogue genuinely scarce on vinyl. Very little of it has been reissued; original HMV and EMI India pressings are usually the only way to own these scores.
Every record is graded honestly with photos of the actual copy, and ships worldwide from India.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Kannada film LPs rare?
Yes, relatively — pressing runs were small and much of the catalogue never saw a reissue. Clean copies of Rajkumar-era soundtracks and late-80s hits are scarcer than equivalent Tamil or Hindi titles, and condition matters greatly to value.
Do these play on modern turntables?
Yes. These are standard 33⅓ rpm LPs and 45 rpm EPs, playable on any modern turntable. Each listing notes the record's condition so you know what to expect before it arrives.
