Vinyl Records in Delhi

Delhi buys differently from the rest of India. Where Mumbai collects film soundtracks and Chennai collects Tamil cinema, Delhi and the wider North buy classical and ghazal more heavily than anywhere else we ship — the legacy of a city that has sustained Hindustani music, qawwali and Urdu poetry for centuries. This page covers what we send to Delhi and the NCR, and how delivery works.

Classical, ghazal and the Urdu tradition

Our Indian classical section covers sitar, sarod, santoor, bansuri, shehnai and vocal recitals, including named recital sets from Bismillah Khan, Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Allah Rakha and Zakir Hussain. Alongside it, our ghazal LPs and Pakistani and Urdu pressings find more buyers in Delhi than in any other city. These were often pressed in smaller runs than film soundtracks, and good copies surface less frequently.

Hindi film music

Delhi buys Hindi film soundtracks in quantity too — the whole run from 1960s LPs through the 1980s, plus the 45 rpm EPs that many titles first appeared on and that are often the only format a song was ever pressed in. Also well represented: devotional records and Punjabi film and folk, which travels naturally into the NCR.

Buying vinyl in Delhi

Delhi's own record trade is thinner than Mumbai's — the secondhand markets turn up records, but sporadically, and specialist stock is limited. Most serious buying in the city now happens online or through collector networks. We are an online store shipping from Bengaluru: one copy of each record, vinyl and sleeve graded separately, faults photographed rather than described away.

Delivery to Delhi and the NCR

Delhi is a metro route and among the faster deliveries on our network, typically arriving within a few days of despatch. Records travel in rigid mailers built for corner protection. Delhi's dry heat is gentler on records in transit than the coastal cities, though extreme summer temperatures are worth considering for a large order — records should not be left sitting in a hot vehicle or doorway. Shipping cost and timelines appear at checkout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I buy vinyl records in Delhi?

Options in the city are limited and inconsistent: a small number of dealers, the secondhand markets, and occasional collector meets. For original Indian pressings in known condition, online is generally the more reliable route, which is why a large share of our classical and ghazal stock goes to Delhi addresses.

Do you ship to Noida, Gurugram and Ghaziabad?

Yes — the whole NCR, on the same metro delivery route as central Delhi.

What do you stock for Hindustani classical collectors?

Original recital LPs across instruments and vocal traditions, on HMV, Odeon, EMI and Music India. Stock changes constantly as collections come in, so the classical section is worth checking periodically rather than once.

Do you buy records in Delhi?

Yes. We buy across India and arrange transport for collections outside Bengaluru — see selling your records.
