About the film
Prem Tapasya is a 1983 Hindi film directed by Dasari Narayana Rao, starring Jeetendra, Rekha, Reena Roy and Vinod Mehra. The soundtrack was composed by Laxmikant-Pyarelal, with playback by Kishore Kumar, Asha Bhosle and Shabbir Kumar. A terminally ill man secretly marries the woman he loves but drives her away by courting a courtesan, and before dying blesses her marriage to his friend.
