Hari Prasad Chaurasia Indian Vinyl Records

Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, born in Allahabad in 1938, is the musician who carried the bansuri — the bamboo flute — to the front of the Hindustani classical concert stage. A wrestler's son who learned in secret, he built a career spanning solo raga recitals, the long-running duo with santoor player Shivkumar Sharma, and film scores composed with him under the name Shiv-Hari.

What we currently stock

Six records at present. The core of them is Indira Kalyan, a 1984 solo raga LP, of which we hold several copies including brand-new sealed stock. The rest are classical anthologies — Music of India Vol. I and Raga Mood — on which he appears alongside Shivkumar Sharma, Ravi Shankar and Brij Bhushan Kabra. This is a small, honest listing rather than a padded page, and it grows as we buy.

Every record is graded honestly, sleeve and vinyl separately, with photographs of the actual copy. We ship worldwide from Bengaluru in rigid mailers.
