Shiv Kumar Sharma Vinyl Records
Pandit Shivkumar Sharma (1938–2022) took the santoor — a Kashmiri folk instrument of a hundred struck strings — and established it as a solo concert instrument in Hindustani classical music, a feat no one had managed before him. He recorded prolifically, both alone and in the celebrated partnership with flautist Hariprasad Chaurasia.
What we currently stock
This is a small collection — three records at present, all classical compilations and anthologies on which Shivkumar Sharma appears alongside other maestros rather than solo albums under his own name. Music of India Vol. I pairs him with Hariprasad Chaurasia and Brij Bhushan Kabra; Raga Mood gathers pieces by Ravi Shankar, Shivkumar Sharma and Hariprasad Chaurasia together. We list what we actually hold rather than padding the page, and stock changes as we buy.
Every record is graded honestly, sleeve and vinyl separately, with photographs of the actual copy. We ship worldwide from Bengaluru in rigid mailers. If you are after a specific Shivkumar Sharma title we do not have listed, write to us — we will tell you plainly whether we expect to find it.
