About the film

Shama Parwana is a 1954 Hindi film directed by D. D. Kashyap, starring Suraiya, Shammi Kapoor, Kumari Naaz and Roopmala. The soundtrack was composed by Husnalal Bhagatram, with playback by Mohammed Rafi, Suraiya and Ulhas. Set in Mughal-era India, an impoverished poet and a nobleman's daughter fall in love against her father's wishes, and the romance ends in tragedy.
