FAQ
Does the E1.2 have a built-in phono preamp?
No. The E1.2 outputs a moving magnet phono signal, so you'll need an amplifier with a phono input or a separate phono stage. If you don't have one, look at the E1 Phono instead.
Do I need to set it up before playing?
No. The cartridge is mounted, aligned, and tracking force and anti-skate are set at the factory. You fit the belt and platter, plug it in and play.
What's the difference between the E1 and the E1.2?
The E1.2 upgrades the ABS platter to a 730g die-cast aluminium one and swaps the Audio-Technica AT3600L cartridge for Pro-Ject's Pick it MM E. Measured wow and flutter improves accordingly.
Can I upgrade the cartridge later?
Yes. The headshell takes any standard half-inch mount cartridge, and the counterweight suits typical entry to mid-range MM designs.
